Meet The Team

 

Troy Glembot, MD, MBA, FACS, FASMBS
Medical Director

Troy Glembot, MD, FACS, FASMBSDr. Glembot is the Medical Director of the Winchester Medical Center Bariatric Program. A native of Warrenton, VA, he attended Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, VA where he received his medical degree and completed his general surgery residency and research fellowship. Bariatric surgery is Dr. Glembot’s passion. "It is very satisfying to see the improvements in a person’s health that occurs after this life saving procedure." Dr. Glembot has completed specialized training in the placement of the Adjustable Gastric Banding System and received training during his surgical residency to perform the gastric bypass. As Medical Director, Dr. Glembot is responsible for overseeing the entire program and ensuring that all components are well integrated to make bariatric surgery as safe as possible for all patients. He has written or coauthored 8 journal articles as well as a book chapter.  He lives in Winchester with his wife Lea and enjoys outdoor activities, exercise and motorcycling. Full Bio.

Jim Wiedower, MD, FACS, FASMBS
Bariatric Surgeon

Jim Wiedower, MD, FACS, FASMBSDr. Wiedower earned his medical degree from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock, AR. He traveled east to his general surgery residency at the Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, VA. He fell in love with Virginia and moved to Winchester in 1983. Dr. Wiedower received gastric bypass surgery training during his residency and has completed specialized training in advanced laparoscopic procedures including the placement of the Adjustable Gastric Banding Systems.  He is the Medical Director of Information Systems for Valley Health. He is passionate about this program because it gives him the ability to assist patients in getting their lives back. Sherif Kaiser, MD AAFP
Medical Physician

Sherif Kaiser, MD AAFPDr. Kaiser earned his medical degree from Cairo University Medical School. He established Berryville Medical Associates, PLC where he practices family medicine. He is a Board certified family practitioner and a member of the attending staff at Winchester Medical Center. He is an associate professor of Family Practice at VCU. Dr. Kaiser has a personal interest in weight loss management and obesity. "Helping patients to achieve their weight goal and to decrease their risk factors of obesity is very challenging but gratifying in many ways."  Dr. Kaiser became involved with the Bariatric Program at WMC because comprehensiveness of the program, covering medical, behavioral, and surgical disciplines.

Patrick "Rick" Northcraft, MSN, RN, FNP-C
Nurse Practitioner

Patrick "Rick" Northcraft, MSN, RN, FNP-CRick is a Nurse Practitioner. He first worked for Valley Health from 1994-2002 as a critical care nurse in both Pulmonary Special Care Unit and Medical/Surgical ICU. Since completing the Family Nurse Practitioner track at Shenandoah University in 2002, the majority of his career has been in the field of neurosurgery. Rick joined the Bariatric Program in 2009 and is amazed at how the program changes the lives of so many people. He is excited to be a part of the team and equally excited to play a role in the patient’s journey.

Tina Shelton MSN, RN, CBN  
Program Coordinator

Tina Shelton, RN, CBNTina has been employed with Valley Health since 1991 where she has held various positions in the department of surgery. In 2006 she began working as the program coordinator for the WMC Bariatric Program. In this role she works very closely with the medical director to ensure that the program consistently provides the highest quality of care on every level. Tina is a Certified Bariatric Nurse and is a member of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery, National Association of Bariatric Nurses and the Obesity Action Coalition. Away from work she enjoys spending time with family and friends. "While nursing has been a rewarding career, having the daily opportunity to witness the positive changes that continue to occur in the lives of our patients is even more rewarding".

Robyn Nickles Hensley, MS RD
Program Dietitian

Robyn Nickles Hensley, MS RDRobyn earned a Master’s degree in Nutritional Sciences at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in 2006 and her undergraduate degree from Oklahoma State University in 2003.  She returned to Virginia in 2007 and began working with the Bariatric Program. Robyn works closely with surgical and medical patients to help them through the nutritional challenges of weight loss. She enjoys working closely with a multidisciplinary team that helps people accomplish their weight loss goals and make lasting improvements to their quality of life.

Pam Kuehl, LPC
Behavioral Health

Pam is a Licensed Professional Counselor. She completed a BS of Psychology at Fairmont State University and a Master’s of Counseling at West Virginia University. She joined Valley Health in July of 2005 as a therapist in the inpatient behavioral health unit. Pam brings a wealth of knowledge to the Bariatric Program on behavioral cognitive management techniques. Away from work, Pam enjoys spending time with her family and dogs.  Pam commented, "I enjoy working with the Bariatric Program because of the team approach we take to treatment and seeing the patients’ transformation."

Delsie McCoy, MS
Exercise Specialist

Delsie McCoy holds a Master’s of Science degree in Exercise Science and Wellness Programming from Colorado State University and is certified as a Clinical Exercise Specialist. Since 2000 she has worked as a health educator for Valley Health, teaching and counseling clients on behavioral change, exercise habits, weight management, and stress management. Making activity not only beneficial, but also fun is her priority. Her favorite hobbies include hiking, ice skating, and ballroom dancing.

Jennifer Gray
Practice Manager

Jennifer GrayJenny, originally from Sumerduck, Virginia, came to the Winchester area in 2001 and in 2007 she began working with the Bariatric Program.  Her role in the program includes overseeing the day to day operations of the office practice.  She is delighted to be a part of a team that can change a person’s life.  "I thoroughly enjoy my role in the program and helping the patients reach their goal of starting a new life."

Connie Pugh, LPN
Office Nurse

Connie Pugh, LPNConnie graduated from Alexandria School of Nursing in June 1984. Connie has several fields of nursing experience, including over a decade in the surgical field of General and Bariatric surgery. She is excited to work with the Bariatric Program – having had the surgery herself in 2002 she has firsthand knowledge of how bariatric surgery can transform a person’s life. With her new life, some of her hobbies are camping, crafting, and going to theme parks.

Cheryl Wright, LPN
Office Nurse

Cheryl graduated from James Rumsey Technical Institute in 2000 as a LPN. She has worked with the physically and mentally handicapped in the past as an aid and then as a nurse. She joined the Bariatric Program after working six years in a neurology/neurosurgery office.

Doris Santmier
Patient Service Representative

Doris SantmierDoris is our receptionist and assists in scheduling. "I really enjoy the family atmosphere in this program."

Tammy Haines
Insurance Billing Specialist

Tammy HainesTammy attended Lord Fairfax Community College for Medical Insurance Billing/Coding. Tammy has worked in the General Surgery field and has been with Valley Health since 2008. She enjoys working with the patients through their journey.

Stephanie Webster
Patient Service Representative

Stephanie WebsterStephanie is the friendly voice you may hear when you call the office.  She began working with the Bariatric Program in April 2009, but has been in the medical field for five years.  She is excited to have a role that can assist patients as they take the steps to improve their life.

Stephanie Clark
Patient Navigator

Stephanie, originally from Botetourt County, Virginia attended Ferrum College to obtain a degree in Business Management, and is also a certified fitness instructor. Stephanie has a passion for people and is excited to be a part of such an amazing program that helps to change people’s lives! She is excited to take on the new role of patient navigator and help guide each patient through their journey.
